About Chef T

That's Chef T with Vivian Howard, owner of Chef & The Farmer restaurant and star of PBS series "A Chef's Life."

Chef T LLC is owned and operated by Thomas Carrig. Thomas always loved food, cooking and wine, but only as a hobby until 2004. After about 20 years as a research and development professional in the world of polymer adhesives, Thomas decided that a life change was in order.

Thomas' interest in cooking derived from his love of eating good food. He honed his cooking skills as an amateur for many years, and got really good at it. And then something odd happened - Thomas began reading books about the food "industry." He learned the reality of where the colorful boxes on the grocery shelves come from and how the animals that become a fast food burger or nugget are raised and processed. It's not right, plain and simple.

So Thomas decided to go to culinary school at the age of 45, enrolling at Johnson & Wales and graduating at the top of his class! And since he has always been interested in healthy foods and had a passion for science, Thomas earned a B.S. in Culinary Nutrition after that, again at the top of his class.

Thomas honed his craft, learning and developing his own unique style at several world famous resorts known for promoting health and wellness, including one on Hilton Head Island.  He also has years of experience as a personal chef to bring to his clients.

Chef T LLC is fully insured and licensed to do business in beaufort County, SC.
